Most campers, camper builds, and other RV’s utilize a similar method for keeping warm. As with a traditional home, they stuffed the walls with the same old thick fluffy cotton candy, also referred to as fiberglass insulation.

 

There is more than one way to insulate an RV. First, you must locate a place where you can bury your camper. This should be an area that is in direct sunlight all day, in addition to being dry. Some of us prefer a location where there are little or no winds, as this allows the camper to insulate better. You can dig holes in the ground just large enough for a camper bed, as well as a few feet deep.

 

Next, you must install some air vents in the bed. I prefer to use two smaller vents instead of one large vent, as this allows the air to circulate freely, as well as allowing the heat to circulate more evenly throughout the camper.

 

Once this is done, you’ll need to install a cover over the bed. The cover will also serve to protect your camper from the elements, including rain and snow. The cover needs to have an adequate R-value to provide adequate protection against the elements.

 

As far as inflation is concerned, the main types of insulation are rigid foam, cellulose insulation, and other forms of synthetic fibers.Each has its advantages and disadvantages, but it is important to find one that is rv toilets right for your camper. The disadvantage of using fiberglass insulator is that you must periodically replace the fiberglass, which can be quite expensive. It will also take up quite a bit of space.

There are also synthetic materials available, including Polyester and Rigid Polyethylene. They also have the advantage of being inexpensive, but are more brittle than their plastic counterparts.

 

After you’ve purchased the liner, it’s time to install the bed. I would suggest that you install the liner over the bed rail first, to help support the weight of the bed. You may want to use an anchor to secure it to the rail.

 

You should now install the bed frame on top of the liner. using wood screws, then attach the bottom frame to the bottom frame with Velcro. This is done just above the bed.

 

Once the bed frame is installed, it is time to install the roof, or ridge boards. Use plywood to finish them off.

 

When installing the roof, you’ll want to attach a roof skirt to the bed liner, and install this onto the bed frame. This will prevent snow and rain from entering the camper. Be sure to measure the width of the truck bed and decide how much skirt you need. You will need at least a couple inches.

 

You will also need aluminum strips for the roof skirt. Install these onto the bed and install onto the ceiling joists, making sure you attach them securely so that there are no gaps.

 

Once all the hardware is in place, you can now attach the bed liner onto the bottom frame using screws. and nails, or any other method of securing the liner to the bed. It is also a good idea to install a piece of polyethylene sheeting on the bottom of the truck bed to give added rigidity and protection from rain and snow
